Services

What our tyre service includes

Each job can be ordered on its own or together with a tyre change. The cost depends on the rim size and type and on the work involved — current prices are on the Prices page.

Tyre change

We remove the tyres from the rims and fit another set — when the season changes or when the tyres are worn. We work with steel and alloy rims, and with SUV and minibus wheels.

Wheel balancing

We correct the imbalance of the wheel assembly — the tyre together with the rim. Tyre manufacturers recommend balancing a wheel every time a tyre is fitted: imbalance causes vibration at speed and accelerates tyre and suspension wear.

Tyre repair

We repair damaged tyres. Whether a tyre can be repaired depends on where the damage is and how large it is: according to tyre manufacturers’ recommendations, punctures and cuts in the sidewall cannot be repaired.

Valve replacement

We replace wheel valves. A tyre can gradually lose pressure through an old or damaged valve.

RunFlat tyres

We also change RunFlat tyres with reinforced sidewalls. The price list includes a surcharge for each such tyre.

Seasonal storage

We store tyres without rims, or complete wheels — tyres together with rims — for the season.

When to come in

When it is time for a tyre change

Book a visit if at least one of these applies. Do not put off dealing with a damaged tyre: your safety on the road depends on its condition.

The season has changed. In Estonia, winter tyres are mandatory from 1 December to 1 March, and studded tyres are allowed from 15 October to 31 March. More details below.

The tread is worn. The tread depth is approaching the legal minimum or the wear indicators in the grooves.

The steering wheel vibrates at speed. A common cause is wheel imbalance, especially after hitting a kerb or a pothole.

A tyre is losing pressure. The cause may be a puncture or a faulty valve.

A tyre has a cut, a bulge or cracks. Driving with this kind of damage is dangerous — the tyre needs to be checked.

The tyres are wearing unevenly. Check the tyre pressure and the wheel alignment angles. For alignment, see the 3D wheel alignment page.

Winter season

Winter and studded tyres: the rules in Estonia

Tyre dates and requirements are set out in Annex 1 to Regulation No. 42 on the technical requirements for motor vehicles and their trailers and the requirements for their equipment. For cars and for vans with a gross weight of up to 3.5 t (categories M1 and N1), the following applies:

  • winter tyres are mandatory from 1 December to 1 March; non-studded winter tyres must carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol;
  • studded tyres are allowed from 15 October to 31 March, and from 1 October to 30 April in winter road and weather conditions;
  • studded tyres must be fitted on all wheels of the vehicle;
  • the minimum tread depth is 1.6 mm, and 3 mm for winter tyres from 1 December to 1 March.

Check your tyres before the season changes

Inspect each tyre and wheel:

  • the tread depth is not below the legal minimum;
  • there are no cuts, bulges or cracks on the sidewall;
  • the tread is wearing evenly;
  • the pressure matches the recommended value — it is given in the owner’s manual and on the label in the door opening or on the fuel filler flap.

Check the pressure when the tyres are cold — once a month and before a long journey.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about tyre changes

How much does a tyre change cost?

The cost of a tyre change depends on the rim size and type — steel or alloy. There is a separate price for SUVs and minibuses. Balancing, tyre repair, valve replacement and storage are charged separately. Current prices are on the Prices page.

When should I switch from summer to winter tyres?

Winter tyres are mandatory from 1 December to 1 March, and studded tyres are allowed from 15 October. The Transport Administration (Transpordiamet) advises not to wait for frosts and to change tyres before the first sub-zero temperatures: below 5–8 °C, the rubber of summer tyres loses its elasticity.

Is balancing needed when changing tyres?

Yes. Tyre manufacturers recommend balancing a wheel every time a tyre is fitted to a rim. Balancing may also be needed after a hard impact, for example against a kerb, if vibration appears at speed.

Can a punctured tyre be repaired?

Often it can, if the damage is small and in the central part of the tread. According to tyre manufacturers’ recommendations, punctures and cuts in the sidewall are not repaired. Do not keep driving on a flat tyre: this can damage the sidewall and make a repair impossible.

Can I leave my tyres with you for storage?

Yes, for the season. You can leave just the tyres or complete wheels — tyres together with rims.

Do you change RunFlat tyres?

Yes. The price list includes a surcharge for changing each RunFlat tyre — see the Prices page for details.
